For MSMEs in Myanmar’s agri-food processing sector, improving food safety standards is essential for success in both local and international markets. With investments in infrastructure, processes, technologies and training, Agrifood MSMEs can improve their food safety standards, thereby contributing to the reduction of the import of expensive food products and save valuable foreign currency for Myanmar.
Agrifood MSMEs need to invest in advanced food processing equipment and facilities to reduce spoilage and contamination costs, while enhancing product quality and market value.
Across the various Agrifood value chains, achievement of important certification standards such as FDA, ISO, HACCP, and GMP, are necessary for accessing new international markets.
Further investments in value added production facilities by Agrifood MSMEs, will increase the global competitiveness of Myanmar’s processed agrifood products and earn precious foreign currency to meet the country’s needs.
RBF+ is inviting Agrifood MSMEs interested in investing in Food Safety & Value-added Production facilities to benefit from RBF+ grant support up to MMK 200 million per project.
